I need a large shower curtain rod to fit my shower/bath. They do not make rods larger than 72inches?

I need a large shower curtain rod to fit my shower/bath. They do not make rods larger than 72inches? We live in a log cabing and have a very large jacuzzi/shower. I need abour 78 inches. What can I do or is there anywhere that sells larger curtain rods?? Thanks!!I need a large shower curtain rod to fit my shower/bath. They do not make rods larger than 72inches?
They make 96'; shower rods and you can cut them to fit

OR, you can get a custom cut length of PVC pipe (home improvement stores, plumbing supply outlets) , probably about 3/4'; to 1'; wide and buy the standard shower curtain flanges to mount it in at your hardware store.I need a large shower curtain rod to fit my shower/bath. They do not make rods larger than 72inches?
Curtain Rods--but be sure %26amp; select one that will be OK in the wet environment or hang it higher than usual to avoid direct spray--you could even hang it from the ceiling. Get a plastic liner made bigger and consider using real curtains over the liner. You can make your own liner with vinyl, sew to ready made together, use plastic table cloths or even buy oil cloth by the yard. Regular fabric can be laminated as well %26amp; also consider outdoor fabric like Sunbrella, Silverstate, etc which gets wet (its acrylic).
I found this site online that you can order custom made rods. I added the link, all you do is click on rods then click on the custom ones. You just have to type in your dimensions and go from there. Good luck, I hope this helps in some way :-)

http://www.showerrods.com/
Few bathtubs are longer then 72 inches. On HGTV they often use curtain rods when they need a larger size.

Does anyone know where I can get a coordinating bath set including absorbent bath mat and shower curtain?

Depending on where you live and what is around you, you have several options. Here in Ontario, Canada we have Sears, the Bay, Walmart, Winners, HomeSense, Bed%26amp;Bath, Pier 1 Imports, and Beddingtons, to name a few.

However, if online is your cup of tea, there is overstock.com, BizRate.com, Shopzilla.com, BathBeautiful.com, and goodnightnaturals.com

Of course, if frugality is your option, why not try a thrift store? A few that come to mind are the Salvation Army, Value Village and Goodwill.

Of course, you could always go to a fabric outlet place and purchase the exact fabric you want and make it yourself. Inexpensive and relatively simple to make.

Good luck in your search.

i think the cheapest way of all would be to get cup hooks (uno those screws that u can screw onto a door etc to hang your coat on or something?) well, put a few of those in your roof and then get a pole and put in in them and hey presto!

i do have 2 walls either end of my bath but the pole kept falling down and this worked a treat. good luck!Need a shower curtain rail but window at one end of bath no wall at other, one long wall along side. Ideas?
you can fit an L shaped rail that is attached to the wall at one end, and then the wall at the other end of the L shape, and is supported by a cord or something going to the ceiling from the bend in the L. Hope that makes sense.
You could use the same kind of track that hospitals use to divide beds in a shared room. It attaches to the ceiling. Here is one I found with a quick web search.

B%26amp;Q sell bendy rails for awkward baths abit like the old fashioed curtain rails, think you can also get one that goes in a c shape so it looks round
Yes you can get a curtain device, (a bit like a large hoop) which fits on one wall, and the curtain pulls around it to make a cubicle...
You can buy fittings to suspend the shower curtain fro the ceiling.
You can get circular rails that suspend from the ceiling if you wish.

Any ideas on how to put up a shower curtain on a 2 sided bath tub? ?

I have a very old house with plaster walls and I know this question may sound dumb. But the rod that went down the side and curved around the back came out of the wall. Well I just wanted to see if there was another way to put one up.Any ideas on how to put up a shower curtain on a 2 sided bath tub? ?
Go to Penny's and the have circular and oval shaped rods for shower curtains, also the over sized curtains for this purpose.Any ideas on how to put up a shower curtain on a 2 sided bath tub? ?
I had a bathtub that was 'old-fashioned.' I took two tension shower rods, one for each side of the tub. Then I took two shower curtains and put one curtain along the back of the tub by connecting two rings to one rod and the rest of the rings along the other rod. Then the other curtain connected vice versa, so that the entire tub is surrounded by shower curtains.

So in your case, I would just put the one shower curtain, just curve it around to connect to the other rod.
There is a product available for exactly that Application although they are difficult to find.聽 It's called a claw foot curtain rod聽 try calling a plumbing supply house out of the yellow pages聽 .聽 If you still don't have any luck there is a place in Minnesota called Park plumbing supply I know they can order one and they ship all over the U.S.聽 For a price of course
I have seen a shower rod that ws a complete oval in design. I am not sure where to buy it but I have seen them. They are suspended from the ceiling. You would need two shower curtains one for each side of the ';ring';.

  • Does the color of the bath rug have to match the color of the shower curtain?

I have a butter yellow shower curtain but I also have decorations that are green. Just wondering because I found a cool rug the same shade as the decorations and was wondering if the curtain always has to match the rug.Does the color of the bath rug have to match the color of the shower curtain?
Not at all. Since the rug and the decorations are the same, it should look fine.

Besides, if you like it, that's all that really matters.Does the color of the bath rug have to match the color of the shower curtain?
I don't necessarily think so...look at the color schemes in home and garden magazines so you can visualize if it works. Check out color schemes in http://www.rugsdoneright.com and see what kind of matches they have in area rugs to give you an idea if you really want to match.
contrasting colors look good as well. Sometimes if the item you are trying to match has a smiggin of a color, you can accent that color with your rug. Be creative!
Yes its the law if you dont have it matching you will get in really big trouble possibly life in prison!
    Not unless your Martha Stewart...
No, as long as it matches a color in the room.
I would think so personally. My shower curtain is black/silver and my rugs are blue. UGH! I need to go shopping.
I certainly hope not, since mine doesn't!

Well, just get dressed, if people wanna watch thats their problem......
i'd go for it i'd say if they cared enough to look they would go to any length to see me anyway lol.
    dont know
Just let it all hang out....what the hell....
yeah i would love that! i might not even get dressed. just walk around naked
i would have to be a n exhibitionist to live in a glass house
    I'd hang sheets.
no problamo dude... im not ashamed of my body and would just flaunt it. hahahaha::)))
I'd just do it. Who cares who sees me. :)
wouldn't live in a glass house
I would put bubbles in the hot water and take my clothes off and gently put my toes into the water and adjust the water until the water suited me, then sink down into the bubbles and water and bathe. When I was through bathing and relaxing in the hot tub, I would rise from it, and then dry my body off with a nice soft towel, then put my underwear on, followed by my clothes.

If I had no curtains, and only had a glass house, I would make do with what I had. I am not ashamed of my body.
why would you be in an all glass house in the first place?
    um?
    I'd get dressed under blankets.
    put towels up
Well just do it..Strip off and take a bath and get dressed as you would in a brick house. Wouldnt bother me.What you see is what you get!
No problem, we have a shower block at work, Id just take my things in and wash there.
    Very carefully !
I would just be naked in front of everyone, because I love my baths! guess I wouldn't be telling you where I live! That would be a sight for the frat boys across the street!

Do you have a shower curtain or glass door in your bath?

We just expanded our bathroom and can't decide if we should get a glass door or a shower curtain for the shower/tub area. The tub is a larger deep soaking tub and I think it would be easier having a fancy curtain. Are shower curtains out of style now for newly remodeled, expanded bathrooms? It is a ground floor bath, not the master bathroom by the bedrooms upstairs... Any ideas? Thanks.Do you have a shower curtain or glass door in your bath?
I have had both, I prefer the curtain and liner.

The glass doors take more space, and either have to swing open, and if they slide open, they only slide 1/2 the width of the tub.

Plus, if you fall through a curtain, it does not shatter and cut you.Do you have a shower curtain or glass door in your bath?
I live in a newer home and I have a glass door in the master bath and a curtain in the guest bathroom. I, personally like the shower curtain better as it is much easier to clean. Glass looks nice, but in my opinion, it's just hard to keep clean if you don't wipe it down after each shower. I don't think shower curtains are out of style at all, and you could get a nice fancy one with a nice pattern on it and, to me, it will look luxurious.
Prior to moving we had a shower curtain. Now we have a home with glass doors in the main bathroom and we hate them. Not only do they make the room seem small, these particular ones do not hold the water out as well as curtains do. When curtains get dirty, they are a simple toss in the washer. Add new paint and new curtains, you have a new look for minimal expense.

    My vote, go with curtains.
I love a glass-walled shower. It is modern and sexy (for my wife and I LOL). I don't like a glass door for a bath because it makes it seem like I am boxed it. A bath is about relaxation and freedom. A shower curtain can be pulled aside if there is not a need to have it closed.
I have a walk in shower, but shower curtain comes with a lot of different patterns so you could accessorize your bathroom the way that you want to.
I have shower curtains on both of our showers, one is a tub/shower combo and the other is stall shower.

I much prefer them to glass doors, they're easier to clean...
curtains are still great, especially with all the fabric ones available. I always buy two identical ones and use both. It makes it look more plush.
I have a shower curtain, but I'd much rather have a glass door.
i think glass doors look better, plus, they don't make you feel so claustrophobic

We are renewing a bathroom and we are think about using a curtain instead of a door.

We want to know what there are the advantages and disadvantages.

Thanks. What is better to use for a bath tub, door or curtain?
If you don't have children and are fairly neat, a curtain can be a nice addition to the bath. Change the curtain and chane the whole look of the bath. But - you have to remember to wipe the bottom of the liner before pushng it aside to prevent mold. And keep the liner in the tub and the decorative curtain outside the tub. Kids don't seem to grasp the concept (and some DHs either)

The doors do require cleaning. With the new trackless it is so much easier than it used to be. But they make keeping the floor dry an no brainer. You can still hang a shower curtain in front for a decoration. What is better to use for a bath tub, door or curtain?
The door is more expensive and is harder to keep looking good. it has to be kept clean and have the hardware and the sealant joints maintained. A heavy clear vinyl curtain liner with Mildrew Resistance and then a really stylish shower curtain looks really nice for a little money. You can get towels, and rug to match it. The liner should be changed every 3 months. Then the curtain can be changed to completely change the look of your bath.
The door will always be better if done correctly.......but there's a weeee difference in cost........but it's a fun one day job if ye got a few tools mateeeee...........good luck...nice to just step out and be done........bye

How can I fit a shower and curtain above my bath without having to drill into walls?

I'm in rented accomodation so cannot drill anything permanent. Looked at a basic tap to shower head but has anyone any good ideas for fitting a shower curtain? How can I fit a shower and curtain above my bath without having to drill into walls?
U can buy poles from large diy stores that are telescopic(so they adjust for difrent width walls)%26amp; they suction to the wall so theres no drilling or fixings. They would only be any good if ur baths against one wall as theyre for baths that r againstr the length of one wall. If u try a few difrent large diy stores telling them what u want to do %26amp; that uv heard about these type of poles they should be able to help u.Light weight plastic shower curtains with rings in the holes on top of the curtain slide on them.U wouldnt want a heavier weight curtain as im not sure how good they r for anything heavy but the cheap plastic curtains with the rings r fine %26amp; it saves u spending a lot 4 rented accomodation. How can I fit a shower and curtain above my bath without having to drill into walls?
Yes. Buy a telescopic shower curtain rail.
most DIY stores sell pressure mounted shower curtain rails such as Argos
yes i siliconed the round thing for the pole onto the wall at both ends of the pole.
Usually the rail that holds the shower curtain can be extendable so it sort of sucks itself to the wall.....
    Not easy, try scaffolding
    Suction !
If the bath tub is in an alcove (walls all around it), you can get an extendable curtain rod with rubber knobs on each end anywhere they sell shower curtains. To expand the length of the rod, you twist one end counter clockwise. When it's just barely longer than the width of the bath tub (actually between the walls on either end of the tub), you can slide the rod between the walls (it's spring-loaded and will give a little) to position it. You then twist the one end some more to secure it between the walls.
You can buy expanding telescopic poles that go as short or as long as you desire, then you put them up and fit them to either wall really tight, i've had mine up for 6 years! They aren't expenisve and you can find them everywhere...
You can buy a tension shower curtain. Put it inbetween the walls and twist it and it stays up.
You can get extendable poles that iwll span the space between the walls. B%26amp;Q have got them, so have Wickes, Homebase Focus, all of 'em.
Hi check out Argos for spring loaded shower curtain rails, I've got two and they work really well.
they make shower curtain rods that are expandable with tension on them so they pretty much fit any width and they actually do stay up. Also you can just easily undo it to take it with you when you decide to move
There's a pole the can extend inbetween the two walls with rubber guards at the end. Use that...
The computer says ';Spring loaded pole %26amp; a suction cup';.
You can get spring-loaded shower curtain poles from places like wilkinsons, tj hughes, woolies etc - they're great as they support themselves with no fittings - only drawback is they only work on the long side of the bath if you have a wall each end!!

This probably depends on what your price range is. In our area (Mass) the Target stores have practically no draperies like they use to carry. Walmart has some decent ones. I've seen nice drapes at JCPenny and Sears. If you sew, have you tried making your own? I make mine using clearance fabric at Joanne's and have even made bedroom drapes by using flat sheets.
The best deal I've seen for drapes is at Ikea. They are inexpensive and look nice.
I had horrible experiences buying curtains at Target. One style I liked and bought were different lengths when I got home, then another style (the 2nd choice) were different shades of color. The third time was a charm...but all three times I had to drive around to different stores to get the number of panels I needed to cover 3 windows. I would recommend you take everything out of the packaging to check for quality before you leave the store, because they do have cute styles. I bought my rods from BBB and LOVE them. Happy shopping!

  • Shower curtains, What to do after a bath?

Do I leave it open or close it? What is the proper thing to do?Shower curtains, What to do after a bath?
Close it to allow it to dry. Keeping it open traps moisture, which can lead to mold. Hope this helps.Shower curtains, What to do after a bath?
I would leave the shower curtain closed to dry it, otherwise, it might mold. When it's dry, it looks better open though.

I would suggest 2 layers of shower curtains: a simple one inside and a decorative one on top. In this case, you can keep the decorative curtain open at all times and open the other after the shower. If the simple one catches mold or gets dirty, you would just buy another one, because it would be much less expensive.

I saw this idea at a very expensive hotel (about $500-600 per night).

If you have a very dirty shower, keep the curtain closed to hide it. ;)
It's a matter of preference.. Either is fine.. enough air will get to it to dry whether it's open or closed.

Personally, I like it open so you know there isn't someone hiding behind it.
I always close mine. When there is a lot of soap scum build up, I put it in the washer and then hang it right back up. Don't dry it.

Since you already state that you have a small space to work with in the bathroom... I really think that decorative shower curtains are the way to go.

Since you already state that you have a small space to work with in the bathroom... I really think that decorative shower curtains are the way to go.

Perhaps you can shop around and find really luxurious and high end shower curtains to dress up the bath area, you can also get very some accessories to play it up.

    I hope that helps!

At home depot or Loews you can get an ';accordion door'; they come in various styles and colors and are reasonably priced
Saloon style swing doors. They open both ways and are easy to mount and require no formal facings.
